I have been a target of workplace bullying in the university where I work. I have been so ill with stress that I have taken time off work. When I returned I was ignored by colleagues, my grievance unresolved. The union rep who was supposed to be supporting me blamed me for the lack of progress in my case.
If you know someone being bullied, then speak out. It's not a spectator sport.

I understand from a reliable source that THES is "putting on hold" the printing of any stories on workplace bullying, due to the recent restructuring of the publication. Could this be because it wants to be certain to keep the corporate sponsorship of UK HE institutions (i.e. advertising revenue) going at a maximum level? Hmmmm.
Depends on the union rep... in my case he was fantastic and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction, but not to the hosts of Midian who are still prowling round ! As for THES... I agree, if you have anything to reveal there are better media channels.
